T&P FreshFoods welcomes the NASDA association to visit the factory

In 2024, the partnership between Vietnam and the United States is growing rapidly and being strengthened, especially after the two countries officially upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for peace, cooperation, and sustainable development. The U.S. National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) visited Vietnam, focusing on enhancing trade opportunities and cooperation in advanced technology sectors such as agriculture, clean energy, and artificial intelligence.

As a major importer of U.S. beef for many years, T&P FreshFoods was selected as one of the destinations for NASDA’s visit during this business trip. Both sides met to discuss and outline development plans in the agricultural sector between the two countries, particularly focusing on U.S. beef products that T&P imports and distributes in the Vietnamese market. The goal is to provide consumers with high-quality products at the best prices.

T&P FreshFoods welcomed the NASDA delegation for a visit and working session at the factory

On the morning of April 11, 2024, at the T&P FreshFoods Factory in Bac Ninh, Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, CEO of T&P FreshFoods, along with the company's staff, welcomed the NASDA delegation for a visit and working session.

The U.S. National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) delegation included Mr. Wesley Wayne Ward, Secretary of Agriculture for the state of Arkansas and Vice President of NASDA; Mr. Derek Ian Sandison, Secretary of Agriculture for the state of Washington; Ms. Amanda Noel Brondy, Vice President of International Projects at the Global Cold Chain Alliance; Ms. Sherry Vinton, Secretary of Agriculture for the state of Nebraska, along with 20 other officials.

The representative of T&P FreshFoods introduced the company and the product lines being imported from the U.S.

During this meeting, the representative of T&P introduced the scale of the T&P food production and processing factory, the cold storage system, refrigerated trucks, a network of seven branches nationwide, and the staff team. Particularly, besides its strength as an importer of meat from reputable countries worldwide and distributor in the Vietnamese market, T&P has been producing Novie-branded products such as smoked salmon, sausages, beef meatballs, and aims to invest in expanding production to introduce new product lines in the future under T&P FreshFoods.

Both sides discussed the challenges faced in importing beef from the U.S.

The NASDA delegation asked about the difficulties and challenges T&P faces when importing American beef and distributing it in the Vietnamese market. A representative from T&P FreshFoods shared: "American beef is a top product in terms of quality and food safety. Currently, our processed products such as American brisket, American chuck, American short ribs, and American blade are always trusted and chosen by restaurants, hotels, and major supermarket chains in Vietnam. However, there are some issues when we import beef from the U.S. For instance, the tax policy is quite high, ranging from 14% to 20%. This is not just a problem for T&P but for many other importers in Vietnam as well. We hope NASDA will have a more reasonable policy in the future so that we can import more quality products from the U.S."

The delegation from the U.S. Association of State Departments of Agriculture praised T&P FreshFoods' development over the past few years. They acknowledged the company's investment in well-structured and large-scale infrastructure and expressed hope that it would enhance bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and the U.S. in agriculture, particularly concerning high-quality American beef products at competitive prices for the Vietnamese market.

The representative of the delegation, Mr. Wesley Wayne Ward - Secretary of Agriculture for the state of Arkansas and Vice President of NASDA, shared: "Today we enjoyed the sausages and smoked salmon produced by T&P, and I liked both dishes; they are delicious. I was quite surprised and impressed with the smoked salmon, which has a very good flavor. As for the sausages, we have eaten many sausage products in the U.S. and find this sausage to be of very high quality as well."
